The production cars in Pakistan is rising by 100 percent per annum, but the problem pertaining to payment of ‘on’ money in purchase of cars continues to exist with no relief to the consumers.

Pakistan Auto Manufacturers Association’s chairman, Kanwar Idrees told Geo that the car production during past three years shot up by 300 percent. He told that 4,000 cars were produced per month three years ago, which has now jumped to cross over 12,000 units. Besides motorcycles’ production swelling by 50,000 per annum peaked at over 5,00,000 units.
Kanwar Idrees told that the overall production of cars during the current fiscal year would mount to 1,50,000 and expected to further step up next year to 2,00,000 units.
Responding to a question regarding payment of additional amount on booking of cars, he told that the payment of amount on account of ‘on’ money was gradually declining, but such amount being paid on car with CNG fittings was increasing.
