The government is making all-out efforts to import 'low price' CNG buses from China and these buses will be launched with the name of 'President Asif Ali Zardari's Green Transport Scheme' like former transport schemes of auto rickshaws and yellow cab projects, sources confided to The Post on Friday.

The 8,000 CNG buses in big cities, including Lahore, will be launched in phases and Lahore will get 100 buses initially while the rest will depend on the interest of investors and transporters who are in a good position to blackmail any government due to failure of successive regimes to give "state controlled" urban transport system to people. Like other big cities, Lahore will also get its share of CNG buses under the famous green transport scheme project which is still in the pipeline of the federal government.

 
Official sources told The Post that the government was planning to import cheap CNG buses from with the help of handful of investors and there were chances of a large-scale corruption in the green transport scheme which will cross all records of previous schemes.
